Manic Monday Menu 8-29-11

I was going to update this morning's blog with today's menu, but I decided I'd keep that first entry as an introduction only.  Today was kind of a crazy day.  I was supposed to be cleaning because we had a 5 p.m. appointment with a realtor, but my plans were spoiled by lack of water!  We were told our water would be shut off from 8-4 p.m., and I plum forgot.  That was no bueno. It ended up being off until 6 p.m., so none of my laundry got done in time, nor did my dishes, and it was real fun having no running water with two messy little ones, let me tell ya.  But we got through it, just barely.  I never did get my workout in because I didn't want to get all sweaty and risk not being able to shower after, but the night is still young.  I may still squeeze in a workout yet.  This is how my day looked food-wise:

Breakfast (12 pts)
Big fat breakfast sandwich made with 2 slices Sara Lee Delightful whole wheat bread, 1/2 c. egg whites, 4 slices Hormel natural smoked ham, 1 slice Weight Watchers American cheese and 2 slices of Oscar Meyer center-cut bacon. 1 c. organic strawberries + a squirt of fat free Reddi-Wip. 2 lattes, each made with 1/2 c. skim milk, hot coffee, 1/2 Tbsp sugar free hazelnut flavor powder creamer and Splenda

Lunch (9 pts)
Leftover chunky vegetable & turkey spaghetti smothered with 1 oz Trader Joe's Quattro Formaggio cheese

Dinner (15 pts)
Cheesesteak sandwich with tri-color peppers, baby bella mushrooms, grilled onions and Trader Joe's lite provolone cheese. 3 oz Ore Ida shoestring fries (baked, not fried). 12 oz can Diet Shasta Root Beer.

Snack (0 pts)
2 small clementines

I neglected to have a late morning/early afternoon snack, but I never got hungry for it anyway. I used exactly 36 of 36 points today, so no room for dessert without dipping into my weekly points.  Darn.  I am trying to reach a mini goal of weighing somewhere in the 120's by Saturday morning so I'm only going to use weeklies this week if I feel desperate for them.  My niece's 1st birthday party is Saturday and I know I need to save weeklies for it with all of the awesome foods & treats my sister has in store.

Today's menu was super delicious and very satisfying.  I do not look forward to dropping down to a daily points allowance of 29 points per day when my baby girl quits nursing all the way.  Those extra 7 points are great, especially when I get to have fabulous dinners like I had tonight.  But I'm sure I'll be just fine.  I'm going to try to convince my wild toddler to go to sleep so I can squeeze in a workout, maybe some 30 day shred.  Good night all and thanks for reading!
